The Eniduro crooner was seen celebrating with fans as Governor Fashola appointed him as his Deputy. Olamide who was born on the 15th of March 1989, hails from Osun state. He grew up in Lagos and started his music career also in Lagos, the name Olamide has become a house hold name.
According to Governor Fashola, Olamide is the best candidate for the seat of the deputy governor because he claims to be the voice of the street.
When Hot Swen correspondent, Anita asked how he felt about his new status, Olamide said " I never saw this coming but I'm very grateful to God for this opportunity, I am so excited right now. Thank you for voting for me ( before our correspondent reminded him that he was appointed and not voted in) .
When asked about what plans he had as deputy governor of the mega city, Olamide said " First of all, I will release a new song and call it 'Lagos Anthem', everybody living in Lagos State must buy it regardless of their ages or believes . It is going to be like TAX but even more serious . If they don't buy my CD they will go to jail. As for the pirates at Alaba International Market, they would be killed if they try to pirate my CDs . Watch out for my new album also featuring Jay Z, Kanye West, P.Diddy, Nicki Minaj etc ".
Olamide further stated that he would be running for presidency in the next elections under the umbrella of the New PDP. We wish him luck in new political career.
